VPN Testing Results

Private Proxy Guide independently tests VPN services using a standardized Windows-based test environment. We measure real-world speed, latency, jitter, packet loss, connection stability, regional performance, IP behavior and leak-related observations. This dashboard summarizes our current first-party VPN benchmark data and links to the complete evidence page for every tested provider.

PPG VPN TEST LAB

Private Proxy Guide benchmarks VPN services using the same core locations, baseline methodology and stability measurements. This hub provides a compact comparison of the current data. Each provider page contains the full regional measurements, test conditions, security observations and evidence limitations.

What Stands Out in the Current Data

1

PureVPN takes the Sweden lead

PureVPN retained 95.94% of baseline download throughput in Sweden, narrowly ahead of OVPN at 95.78%. Seven of the nine complete datasets now sit above 95% or very close to it on the nearby Sweden route.

2

Nearby performance can still vary by country

Several providers show that strong Sweden performance does not guarantee an equally strong neighboring route. Surfshark fell to 62.99% in Germany, ExpressVPN to 50.11% in the UK, IPVanish to 73.02% in the UK and PureVPN to 77.29%.

3

Long-distance results remain dominated by route length

US East retention ranges from 19.00% to 24.43%, while Singapore ranges from 10.81% to 12.78%. Because every test originates from Sweden, these measurements include the substantial overhead of long intercontinental routes.

DNS, WebRTC and Location Validation

Security observations are only classified when the evidence supports a defensible conclusion. Missing or ambiguous baselines remain explicitly inconclusive rather than being converted into a pass or failure.

DNS Results With a Clear Pass

Windscribe Free — PASS in 3/3 tested regions

DNS: Inconclusive Evidence

Private Internet Access — INCONCLUSIVE

CyberGhost VPN — INCONCLUSIVE

NordVPN — INCONCLUSIVE

Proton VPN — INCONCLUSIVE

IPVanish — INCONCLUSIVE

PureVPN — INCONCLUSIVE

The exact limitation varies by batch. An inconclusive result means the available baseline or VPN-side evidence cannot support a reliable leak Pass/Fail conclusion.

PureVPN WebRTC Review

Sweden: PASS

Germany: PASS

UK: PASS

US East: REVIEW

Singapore: PASS

US East exposed an unexpected public IPv4 candidate that did not match the connected PureVPN public address. It also did not match the original baseline address, so PPG does not classify it as a confirmed baseline WebRTC leak.

IPv6: recent PPG batches remain inconclusive where the test environment cannot establish a valid public IPv6 baseline. This limitation is not converted into either a VPN Pass or Fail.

How the PPG Test Lab Works

5VPN-off baseline speed runs
3Speed runs per available VPN region
MedianUsed instead of the fastest result
50Fixed-target stability samples per region
Throughput

Download and upload results are compared with the VPN-off baseline from the same provider batch. Retention shows how much baseline download throughput remained.

Latency and stability

Regional latency is supplemented with fixed-target median and p95 latency, jitter, packet loss and spike detection.

Validation

Requested exit locations are checked with multiple geolocation observations. DNS, WebRTC and IPv6 evidence is classified separately.

All current PPG VPN tests originate from Sweden. The results therefore describe routes from our Swedish test environment. A user in the US, Asia or another part of Europe may encounter substantially different peering, throughput and latency.
Measurement boundary: speed retention does not prove streaming access. Regional and fixed-target latency are not direct game-server ping. A stable tunnel does not prove that a provider’s kill switch works unless that feature was separately tested.
