How Does GEOfinder Work?
One thing we love about GEOfinder is its simplicity. It works regardless of the phone model, which is excellent.
You don’t even need to install it on another person’s device, although there’s an app for iOS and Android.
The first step is to provide the mobile number to GEOfinder.
From here, GEOfinder will send an SMS to that number with a clickable link.
When the person clicks on the link, his/her location is shared and you can see it in the “User Space” menu in the app.
When it comes to device info, GEOfinder doesn’t skimp on anything.
You’ll see the web browser the person used, his/her timezone, operating system, and the state of the device.
Most importantly, you’ll get detailed info about the location, which you can trace using Google Maps for added convenience and accuracy.
To better explain GEOfinder, we’ll mention that it uses the so-called GPS trilateration to give you the device’s location.
Because of this, it can precisely display latitude and longitude values for accurate tracking.
We think GPS trilateration is superior to tower triangulation in smartphones.
GPS trilateration uses satellites – not cellphone towers like smartphone triangulation.
GEOfinder Review of Features
GEOfinder is feature-rich and you’ll have plenty to work with if you’re in it for parental monitoring.
Bear in mind that tracking another person who’s not your child without consent is ILLEGAL in most countries.
Thus, we recommend using the following features only as a parental monitor tool.
GPS Tracker
This is a standard feature of GEOfinder. It takes advantage of the GPS tracking system on your phone, which allows the phone to be tracked.
Once the person opens the aforementioned link, his/her location is immediately tracked by GEOfinder and displayed on the map.
Additionally, users can track the location through Google Maps. It’s worth noting that you can only see the person’s current location, however.
GEOfinder can’t track location history, which is a bummer. This means you’ll have to monitor the child’s location more frequently and with more awareness.
IP Logger
The IP Logger is another great feature that divulges the child’s IP address.
This is quite handy because knowing the IP allows you to find out the city or country the person resides in.
You can use this feature to track your child on a school excursion and ensure everything’s okay.
WiFi Tracker
In our GEOfinder.mobi review, we tested this WiFi Tracker feature. It displays the name of the WiFi network the person currently uses.
Another bit of info is ISP or Internet Provider information, which can help you identify whether the child is on a suspicious network.
VPN Checker
Speaking of networks, GEOfinder offers a VPN Checker feature that we found intriguing.
Children nowadays are tech-savvy and know that using a VPN will conceal their whereabouts.
Well, not from GEOfinder whose VPN Checker will tell you if the tracked person is using a VPN!
Some people will enable the VPN out of precaution before clicking on any links – including SMS links.
If this happens, GEOfinder’s VPN Checker will detect the VPN and immediately inform you of its presence.
It can also detect Proxy and Tor, which, we think, is pretty useful.
Cellphone Carrier Lookup
GEOfinder also helps you find the SIM carrier information associated with a phone number.
Once you request this information, GEOfinder will come back with an in-depth report about the person’s carrier, which can be seen in the app.

GEOfinder isn’t overly expensive for a capable parental tracking app.
It has a monthly subscription at $49.99 with a 14-day refund policy.
We dislike that GEOfinder doesn’t offer some sort of a free trial. Instead, there’s the option to pay $1 and use GEOfinder for 48 hours.
The service supports two payment methods – Crypto and credit/debit cards.
Crypto is our preferred method because it allows for anonymous purchases. GEOfinder supports 12+ cryptocurrencies as well, which is another welcome addition.
